This procedure describes how to retrieve your forgotten CUNY Login password.

1. Enter one of the following URLs in your browser address bar:
   • CUNYfirst URL https://cunyfirst.cuny.edu to access the CUNY Login page
   • CUNY Login Account Self-service URL https://managelogin.cuny.edu to display the CUNY Login Account Self-service page

   Depending on your selection, either the CUNY Login or the CUNY Login Account Self-Service page is displayed.

     

2. Click Forgot Password or Forgot Your Password? link, whichever is displayed.

   The Change Forgotten Password page is displayed.

   
3. On the Change Forgotten Password page, enter the correct value for either your CUNY Login username or EmplID fields.

   Notes:

   • CUNY Login is your CUNY Login username, e.g. FirstName.LastName##@login.cuny.edu
   • EmplID is your unique eight-digit identification number, e.g. 12345678
4. Click the Continue button.

   The Change Forgotten Password - Answer Security Questions page is displayed.

   
5. On the Change Forgotten Password - Answer Security Questions page, enter your answers to two of your five Security Questions displayed.

   If you cannot remember your security questions, click on the I am unable to remember my answers link and follow the instructions provided to change your password.

6. Click the Continue button.

   The Create a Password page is displayed

   
7. On the Create a Password page, enter identical values for your new password in the Enter Password and Confirm Password fields.

   Note: CUNY password standard when choosing a password

   • Password must not match or contain first name.
   • Password must not match or contain last name.
   • Password must not be longer than 20 character(s).
   • Password must contain at least 3 alphanumeric character(s).
   • Password must contain at least 2 alphabetic character(s).
   • Password must be at least 13 character(s) long.
   • Password must contain at least 1 lowercase letter(s).
   • Password must contain at least 1 numeric character(s).
   • Password must contain at least 1 special character(s).
   • Password must contain at least 1 uppercase letter(s).
   • Password must not be one of 4 previous passwords.
   • Password must not match or contain user ID.
8. Click the Continue button.

   Note: Once submitted, the process may take a couple minutes.

   When the process is completed, the Your Password Has Been Changed Successfully confirmation message appears. You will also receive an email confirming that your CUNY Login password change was successful.

You can now log in using your new password.
