Can I use Microsoft Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) without a smartphone? KB0012132
Can I use Microsoft Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) without a smartphone?
Yes. Although the Microsoft Authenticator app is usually the most convenient authentication option for Microsoft MFA, the following authentication options are available for use with Microsoft Authenticator if you don’t have a smartphone:
- A cell phone with SMS text capability
- A voice call to one or more designated telephone numbers
Note: SMS text and phone call authentication options are only available for use with Microsoft MFA—they cannot be used for CUNY Login MFA.
